When I was listening to Obama's speech, I thought that the speech was so similar to the ones I had heard before. I felt as though I had heard this conversation before. The only thing that was different was the tone. It was somewhat refreshing to hear Obama speak like he was a student himself. Nonetheless, I realized that Obama used this tone for a reason: To make students feel connected and understand why the future depends on this generation. He tells us that we can only achieve the things we want to, if we are hard working students. Obama tells us that he knows how hard it is to not be in the best condition to learn. But each and every one of us have obstacles that we need to overcome to produce the best results possible. He then tells the stories of three different individuals in order to show us that no matter how difficult the situation, there are ways for us to succeed. When Obama finishes his speech, it makes each and every one of use feel like we can do something impressive in order to contribute to society.
