Obama

Obama was able to connect with me and all the other students across America when he delivered his speech on education and its importance. He connected so well because of his word selection; "XBox" and "iPhone" are examples of words and items that students have become more than accustomed to and Obama chose these words to make us feel like he understands us or even knows us. He began with telling us of his childhood with regards to academics and how he had hardships and was put through extra studies in the wee hours of the morning; but he obviously has succeeded. Listening to him speak is awesome because of the way he articulates himself and his ability to shove his voice from the tv. He told of stories of young students who have hardships at home that make it difficult to succeed but they have overcame and followed their dreams. Like the girl who didn't speak english, and the girl who bounced around from different fostor homes, but they were able to push past these obstacles. This inspires the students who enjoy success and Obama was able to promote this academic message even with the allusion to a video game system.
