obama's speech to motivate student

There is no doubt that Obama knows what he is doing when it comes to speeches; he is aware of ethos, lagos, and pathos and uses all of these sucessfully. No matter if you are for most of Obama's stances or against him the speech presented to kids brought up valid points and partained to every one. Using lagos he brought up logical points that every one should agree on even if you are a die hard conservative like working hard and motivating kids to stay in school so that they can make better lives for themselves. He said that no matter what obstacles you are going through you are not alone and there is no excuse in behaving or doing poorly in school. After revealing many personal stories including some one who had brain cancer and still ended up completing high school he appealed to us through emotions using pathos. Pathos is something that Obama and any good speaker should and does use in every speech. We can not deny our emotion and relating with the audience especially pulling some heart strings usually ends up being the most successful technique in delivering speeches. Lastly, Obama used the ethos because he is the president of the United States. Although many people disagree with anything he says, he tried to stay unbiased and did not address any of his stances. He simply kept it being about the kids and trying to motivate the youth of America.
