What Does Anger Accomplish?

Anger, by itself, can be a productive emotion that provokes positive changes. But when people act selfishly upon their thoughts and feelings, in order to put down another person, without acting on the problem, they can create a situation that is even worse than before. Because the health care debate is multidimensional, with many positions on what should be done, it can be difficult to come to an agreement that will benefit everybody who is involved. Health care has a large financial effect on people, so the decisions made in Congress are significant. People can sometimes get angry when they feel that their situation is not being heard, and their personal interests are being ignored. Instead of being purposeful with their anger by trying to express their views to people in the government, they can sometimes direct it to the wrong source, which may cause new issues. To be more productive, people should recognize the interests of others and direct their anger in order to decrease the amount of destructive anger.
