Playlist for Knitting
Knitting is much more difficult that it may seem. You need to keep the bobbins over the ribs while simultaneously sliding the gauge up the row counter. Not to mention, if the stranding if off center, then the entire row needs to be redone. But it can be done, and when making a knitted material, it is much more helpful if you have something to keep your mind focused on the task at hand. I decided that the best type of music to help one stay committed to the knitting would be Old School Rap. This g-rate genre, unlike its successors, has a lighthearted and cool beat that just makes your fingers want to keep knitting. I have compiled the top five songs that would be the most effective in helping to keep a calm and cool mind during this stressful time. 1. Its Rockin Time by Kool Kyle the Starchild would be very successful in allowing a person to get loose. The steady beat and easy listening lyrics would be a great motivation to persevere. 2. Rappers Convention by Harlem World Crew. This also would get anybody pumped up and ready to go, while not overdoing it. Old School rap does not have the characteristic bass of the newer generations, but it does keep the rhythm flowing and the audience interested, which is what is important. 3. Superrapin' by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. As one of the first rap songs, this would be excellent for knitting because of the inspirational message that it presents. 4. Adventure of Super Rhyme by Jimmy Spicer. This story-based rap song carries the audience along for an exciting ride that goes from referencing Frankenstein to Aladdin. 5. Philosophy Rappin Spree by Super 3. This would be a great compliment to all of the other songs in all of the syncopated beats. This song has a more upbeat tone that is very motivational. Just remember, as this song says "We wont stop till we bring the house down" -Happy knitting
