On the Road Again...

The open road begs for music. Whether you're on a cross-country trip or just headed to the store, nothing turns a boring drive into a memorable one like a good song to sing along to. So here's a few tracks I like to belt out while I'm on the road:

1)Drive - Incubus
It's not just the name of this song that makes it road-worthy. It fits the mood of a long trip, and it's hard NOT to sing along. Try to get a few friends in on the action, maybe get some harmony going, and you've got a simple way to kill miles of highway.

2)Scar Tissue - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Another tune that's perfect to sing along to on a long drive. The vocals stay in about the same range for most of the song, so it's easy to sound good following along (not that you should care).

3)Heard the World - OAR
Learn the lyrics to this song and you won't ever want to stop singing it. I remember one night when my friend Joe and I drove across town to get a video game we had our hearts set on. We put this song through the stereo and sang our hearts out. The game was awful, but this song made the drive more than worth it.

4)So Much to Say - Dave Matthews Band
Another song that Joe and I loved belting out while we cruised the town. Dave Matthews has an incredible voice, so you're never going to be able to match this very well. Just enjoy your attempt and the upbeat, catchy tune.

5)Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
How could I not put something on here from the 80's? This song is arguably the most sung-along to of anything from the era, and for good reason. It's irresistible; A wonderful story and a beautiful song. And it goes without saying that I recommend just about any other song from this era. You can never go wrong with the classics.
