Assignment: So, you've discovered a planet out in the middle of nowhere in the giant expanse of the universe. Tell me, what’s it like?

Are there people? Humanoids? Or do creatures of other fantastical design rule? Describe the natives and their way of life, including foods, dress, family life, etc. How do they travel? What do they do for fun? Do they even breathe oxygen?
The type of life depends very much so on the landscape and climate of your planet. Do lush forests grace the land like on Pandora (AVATAR) or does one humongous city leave no trace of vegetation like Coruscant (STAR WARS)? Is it hot or cold? Perhaps your planet has a different climate everywhere you go.
It’s all up to you. You design the new world. Though this post may require more than the bear minimum of 150 words, it’d be fun to see what people think up.
