Although I look forward to the start of new years, nothing new ever seems to come out of them. One school year draws to a close, the "carefree" days of summer grace us with their sweltering presence, leave again before we want them to, and we find ourselves back at a desk in the fall. It's a seemingly unending cycle. Most of the time I don't have just that...time. To look any further than the day is almost suicidal. To make goals beyond finishing my homework for the night is difficult. But I'm gonna change that.
I have the usual goals that, like many have mentioned already, deal with school, the upcoming AP tests and our final years at Henry Clay- passing grades, 4s and 5s, searching for and deciding on a college, etc. Then come the athletic goals- continue to play and work hard (even if making Varsity remains out of reach) or remain JV team captain as my career at HC draws to a close. But the most important goal, and most difficult to accomplish, is to find a balance in my life, one that finds time for friends, family, fun, school, and sports all at the same time. There's just one tiny problem...am I lazy when it comes to fulfilling resolutions? Yes. I can flat out say, yes I can be. However...this year I hope to get my act together. :)
