Classics Revisited

So, having just finished watching Tin Man (a fabulous little miniseries loosely based on The Wizard of Oz, for those of you unacquainted with it; definitely worth a watch if you have the time), my mind is buzzing a bit with the possibilities of sci-fi remakes. Thus, my suggestion is this: Create a plot summary of a story recreating in modern format (or in a different genre altogether) a classic story of your choosing.

For instance, to save you the trouble of looking up the plot of Tin Man, let me describe it for you. DG (a twist on the age-old Dorothy Gale, whose name actually makes an appearance) doesn't feel like she fits into her dreary Kansan lifestyle - but all this changes when a powerful storm transports her into the O.Z. - the Outer Zone, a realm rife with magic, and sprinkled with evil. I won't tell you much more, but the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, Toto, the Wizard, and the Wicked Witch all have corresponding roles.

In a nutshell, get in mind a classic tale you enjoy, and recreate it either for a more modern stage or within another genre entirely.
