2010 Goals

With a new year coming in, many new things are coming our way, whether or not we expect or want them to. It’s hard to wrap one’s head around everything you want to accomplish in the coming year when you have so much to think about in the coming week or two; but here’s my shot at it.

Junior year is one of the hardest and most important years in school, and therefore, many of my goals focus on school. I would love to keep all my grades up, do well on both the English and History AP exams, and show my best abilities on the SAT and ACT, as well as the slightly dreaded college applications, essays included. More specifically, I would love to improve my writing abilities. Reading all the practice essays our class has written, along with the first few chapters of Writing With Style, has shown me how much more I can do with an essay besides slapping something “adequate” down on a piece of paper.

Apart from school, I hope to learn how to manage time in a more efficient manner. If I let myself get overwhelmed with everything I have to do, I usually end up procrastinating and losing time I could have spent relaxing with friends and family, or practicing cello. Or even, as boring as it sounds, I would love to get into a habit of sleeping more, eating healthier foods, and working out on a regular basis.

Well, I think that’s more than enough to keep me busy for now. I better go get started, and see what new things come up along the way.
