“Hello, my name is Lauren, and I am addicted to music.” You may laugh at this mock AA introduction, but in reality, it is very true. I have played piano for about 9 years, on and off, clarinet for around 6 years and bari sax for about a year. Pretty much all of my time in the fall is taken up by marching band, and I arrive at school every morning bright and early for jazz band. This summer I had the opportunity to attend Foster Music Camp at EKU, which, while it was not life-changing, was a great reminder of why I love the band setting.
Another major part of my life is horses. I have ridden since I was two, and I plan on going into a career as an equine-specialized veterinarian. Although I do not have my own horse due to costs, I do ride competitively using my barn’s horses.
It is one of my major goals to become one of the marching band’s drum majors for next season when the auditions roll around in the spring. I couldn't choose just one picture, so the picture on the left is from my freshman year marching show, and the one on the right is from a random horseback lesson sometime last year maybe?
