Since I was very young I have always wanted to be a surgeon, and I hope that through college and medical school I can accomplish this. This past spring, I shadowed a heart surgeon at a hospital; As a result of this, I became interested in how our body functions, and more health conscious. Some of my goals for the distant future include competing in an eating contest or setting a ridiculous world record. Last year, I worked hard throughout the grading period, so that I did not have to be as worried about finals, and the effect they would have on my grade. I hope that even though I am taking harder classes this year, I can continue this in order to do well in school.
This summer I went backpacking in Sierra Nevada with Outward Bound. We hiked a couple mountains in the two weeks that I was there. Some of the people who were on the trip were very insightful, and made me think about how we act around other people. The picture is from where I went backpacking on Electra Peak.
